A Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor is...

  • A respected conservation leader, elected by county residents to represent them in charting the course for soil and water conservation and natural resources management.

  • The guide for the district, its staff, and cooperating agencies in efforts to implement a conservation program in the county which addresses management and conservation of soil, water and related resources.  Supervisors have an interest in conservation, enthusiasm and dedication, and adequate time to serve.

  • Elected to a three-year term as a public official and serves without pay.

  • A conservation leader.  Although serving as an SWCD supervisor takes time and energy, thousands of supervisors have found the many rewards of serving far outweigh the sacrifices.
