A Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor is...

• A respected conservation leader, elected by county residents to represent them in charting the course for soil and water conservation and natural resources management.

• The guide for the district, its staff, and cooperating agencies in efforts to implement a conservation program in the county which addresses management and conservation of soil, water and related resources.  Supervisors have an interest in conservation, enthusiasm and dedication, and adequate time to serve.

• Elected to a three-year term as a public official and serves without pay.

• A conservation leader.  Although serving as an SWCD supervisor takes time and energy, thousands of supervisors have found the many rewards of serving far outweigh the sacrifices.

Former Pickaway SWCD Supervisors

• The Supervisor Nominating Committee nominates qualified county residents.
• Others can be nominated by completing a Nomination Petition. 10 valid signatures are required and it must be submitted by the deadline. (Click here to see a copy of a blank petition with deadline dates.)
• Residents, non-resident landowners, firms, corporations, LLCs, or trusts that own land or occupy land in Pickaway County and are 18 years of age and older may vote.
• Non-resident landowners, firms, corporations, LLCs, or trusts must provide an affidavit of eligibility, which includes designation of a voting representative, prior to casting a ballot. (Non-resident landowner affidavit) (Firm, Corporations, LLC, Trust affidavit)
• There are three ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot: (1) at the annual meeting location for one hour prior to the beginning of the annual meeting; (2) at the SWCD office until 4:00 PM on the day of the annual meeting; or (3) vote absentee by requesting the proper absentee request forms from the SWCD office no earlier than 21 days prior to the election (annual meeting date).
